1Overview
This policy explains what information ScoreB collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it to what the site needs to work, and we do not sell your personal information.
2Information we collect
Account information
Your username and email address, and your sign-in details. If you use Google, we receive your name and email from Google. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication, so we never see or store your password in plain text.
What you save on ScoreB
Your favourite matches, teams, players and leagues, your notification settings, your Player of the Match votes, and any feedback you send us (saved with your username and email).
Usage information
Pages you open, searches, filters and tabs you use, an anonymous session ID, your browser and device type, and technical errors. When you are logged in, this can be linked to your account email.
3How we use it
- to run ScoreB and keep you signed in;
- to save and show your favourites and settings;
- to count votes fairly (one vote per user per match);
- to see how the site is used, fix problems and improve it;
- to protect ScoreB and its users from abuse and misuse.
4Cookies and device storage
ScoreB stores small items on your device so the site works the way you left it:
- Theme (light or dark) and language;
- an anonymous session ID used for basic usage statistics;
- a translation cookie when you choose a language other than English;
- your login session, kept by Firebase.
You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. Some features may stop working until you do so.
5Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted services that process data for us:
- Google Firebase for login and saved data;
- Google Translate, which receives the page text when you switch language;
- API-Football for match data and images, which receives normal web requests from your browser;
- content delivery services for fonts and icons (such as Google Fonts and cdnjs).
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of ScoreB and its users.
6Keeping your data safe
Data is sent over secure connections and stored with Firebase, which has its own security protections. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and log out on shared devices.
7How long we keep it
We keep your account information, favourites and settings for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account, favourites and settings are deleted. Basic usage and error records may be kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
8Your choices
- Change your username or email under My profile → Personal details.
- Change your password under My profile → Privacy & security.
- Turn alerts on or off under My profile → Notification settings.
- Remove favourites by un-starring them.
- Delete your account under My profile → Delete account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to some uses. Contact us and we will help.
9Children
ScoreB is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
10Where data is processed
Our service providers, including Google, may process data on servers in other countries. By using ScoreB you understand your information may be handled outside your own country.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important we will give a clear notice on the site.
